Save the Date for our 2026 New Faculty Welcome and Resource Fair

- An invitation with RSVP will be sent to new faculty members. RSVP is required to attend.

Join Our New Faculty Orientation Canvas Site
The New Faculty Orientation (NFO) Canvas site offers a comprehensive introduction to the university’s core offices, support resources, and ways to connect across campus. It also contains recorded Zoom sessions provided by key departments on campus. The Canvas site is organized into distinct modules to help guide you to the information you need.
- The Core Office Module features welcome videos, departmental information, services, resources, links, and contact details.
- The Faculty Support Module provides an overview of support services, including the Library, UF Research, the Center for Instructional Technology and Training, and the Center for Teaching Excellence.
- The Connect Module includes a schedule of Zoom sessions hosted by key campus departments, along with information on additional new faculty events and meet-ups.

- If you are not already logged in to Canvas, the link below will redirect you to elearning.ufl.edu. If elearning.ufl.edu loads click “Log In to e-Learning” to be redirected to the New Faculty Orientation Canvas site.
- You must have a GatorLink username and password created in order to access.

New Faculty Orientation Sessions
These sessions are held live via Zoom, last 30-60 minutes and will consist of a department overview, critical resources, and time for Q&A. For those sessions with multiple offerings, please feel free to attend the session time that works best for you. You will need a GatorLink account to log in.
In this session, you will learn about the various health insurance options available through the State of Florida and the University of Florida. You will also learn about retirement plans, supplemental benefit and voluntary savings plans.

This session will provide an overview of HiPerGator, the University of Florida’s supercomputer, a quick guide to finding I.T. services, and an overview of how to find and get support with your technology needs. HiPerGator and HiPerGator AI infrastructure is available for research and instructional faculty. This session will also explain the consulting and training resources for UF supercomputing and the “AI Across the Curriculum” initiative now underway.

Benefits and Retirement Enrollment
Once you’ve joined the New Faculty Orientation site we recommend you review your benefits eligibility and enroll in benefits as soon as possible. All new faculty have 60 days in which to complete their benefits enrollment, after which they will need to wait until our open enrollment period, typically held in October, to make any changes.
We also encourage you to explore the retirement plan choices available to faculty.
First Year Resources
There are a variety of programs for faculty to take advantage of during their first year at UF. Below you will find a description and link with more information about each program.

The EEP enables full-time UF Academic Personnel and TEAMS employees who have been employed in good standing for at least six months to receive tuition assistance for up to six credit hours of instruction per semester at the state university closest to their work location.
