Solicitation & Distribution of Literature

To maintain a professional environment and avoid disrupting work or inconveniencing others, employees are generally prohibited from distributing literature or printed materials, except as allowed by UF’s regulation on the distribution of printed materials.

Additionally, employees are not permitted to sell merchandise, solicit financial contributions, or solicit for any other cause during working hours or in work areas.

In simple terms: You cannot use UF time, resources (including your UF email account), or property to turn a profit, promote personal interests, or raise money for any person or organization. Such activities can distract from our primary mission at the university and potentially make your colleagues uncomfortable. Please save these efforts for your personal time and come to work ready to focus on your UF responsibilities.

It is important to note that UF may conduct internal fundraising efforts, such as those coordinated by UF Advancement or charitable activities like donations to the UF food pantry, Field and Fork. While these are officially sanctioned by the university, it does not mean that personal solicitation activities are permitted in the workplace.
