If you find that your department, team or project isn’t meeting the standards outlined in this handbook, we encourage you to be proactive. Try to address the issue by fostering collaboration and seeking solutions within your group. If these efforts don’t resolve the situation, your supervisor is your next point of contact.
Should you find speaking to your supervisor challenging or if other issues persist, there are additional avenues available to address your concerns. For a comprehensive list of options, visit the Complaint Filing Options page on the Employee Relations website.
The UF Compliance Hotline, managed by an independent third party, provides a confidential platform for reporting concerns. Available 24/7, you can reach the hotline at 1 (877) 556-5356 or use the Online Reporting Service to submit any type of concern.
If you believe there’s been a violation of UF regulations, policies or procedures, you can report it to UFHR Employee Relations. The preferred method is to use the complaint form available on the Employee Relations website, which offers additional information on various ways to voice concerns.
For issues related to sexual harassment, the Office of Title IX Compliance is available to discuss your options and assist with your concerns.
UF supports informal resolution of grievances and complaints. Your immediate supervisor is your first resource for resolving work-related issues. If informal efforts don’t lead to a resolution, you may initiate a formal grievance or complaint. TEAMS employees can seek assistance from their UFHR satellite office (contact information is provided at the end of this Handbook and on the Employee Relations website). For specific grievance procedures for UFPD officers, sergeants, police communications operators and lieutenants, refer to their respective collective bargaining agreements.
If you’re unsure about where to turn or how to proceed, reach out to UF Ombuds Ron Anderson at randerson@aa.ufl.edu or (352) 392-1308 for guidance and support.
