Aiming for Success

Whether you’re already part of our team or considering joining us, we’re excited about your potential and your future here.

We believe in your ability to succeed at UF, and we hope you see a long-term future with us. Achieving success here involves clear communication, honesty and a strong work ethic from everyone.

 Probationary Periods & Status

Newly hired TEAMS employees begin with a six-month probationary period. This period can be extended to a maximum of one year if needed. Law enforcement employees have a one-year probationary period.

Your probationary period gives us both a chance to evaluate how things are going and decide if this is the right opportunity for you. Note that if you are dismissed during this time, the decision is final and not subject to appeal.

For supervisors, providing new employees with regular feedback, resources and clear expectations is crucial for their success. New employees should use this time to demonstrate their skills and work ethic and to assess if UF aligns with their career goals.

If you’re unsure about your performance or need guidance, don’t hesitate to ask your supervisor or contact UFHR Employee Relations at (352) 392-1072 or EmployeeRelations@hr.ufl.edu. We’re here to support your success and ensure a positive experience at UF.
