UF Board of Trustees recognizes Michael Lauzardo and Screen, Test & Protect team
Last Thursday, the UF Board of Trustees recognized UF Health Screen, Test & Protect Director Michael Lauzardo, M.D., M.Sc., with a permanent resolution that paid homage to his work and leadership to help guide UF through the COVID-19 pandemic. Board of Trustees Chair Mori Hosseini read the full resolution, highlighting the collaborative work among Dr. Lauzardo, UF Health’s interdisciplinary team and the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County. This collaboration, supported by hundreds of volunteers, made it possible to vaccinate more than 61,000 individuals, including 20,000 in a single week, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
